Classroom Behavior Plan
It is extremely important to me that each student is treated fairly and given the same consequences and rewards for their behavior. Students have many opportunities throughout the week to earn Badger Blue Tickets. They can use these tickets on items such as pencils, erasers, candy, etc. This year I will also reward paper prizes such as wear a hat to school for a day, sit with anyone you choose during lunch, switch class jobs for a day with anyone of your choosing, etc. I will also continue to use the 4th-6th grade Clipboard System that is used throughout Bennington Elementary (See below for more details)
Clipboard System
1. Each time a student performs an undesirable behavior they will be asked to sign a classroom clipboard with their name, date, and reason for signing the clipboard.
2. Each signature will count as 5 min. off of their recess time. During this time they will stand in a designated area on the playground until a teacher informs them their time is up.
3. If a student has to sign the clipboard for not completing an assignment, they will have to miss recess until that assignment is completed and turned in.
4. If a student is asked to sign the clipboard 3 or more times in one day, or 5 or more times in a week, they will be assigned a detention that takes place after school.
We will also be using the school wide DWP (Discipline with Purpose) system in conjunction with the “Clipboard” system. If a student has to sign the clipboard 3 or more times in one day, he or she will be asked to go to a designated classroom (DWP Partner Class) and fill out a discipline sheet that will need to be signed by a parent. They will also be served with a detention which takes place on Tuesday or Thursday immediately after school. Along with the DWP system, students will have multiple opportunities throughout the day to earn "Caught Being Good Tickets" when an adult in the building catches them exhibiting positive behaviors.
Factors that might result in a student signing the clipboard include but are not limited to:
-Missing Homework
-Disrupting the Class
-Name Calling/Bullying
-Not following Directions
